  • Advanced trigonometry
  • Interpret all types of blueprints (imperial, metric, foreign, GD&T)
  • Make setups: select tooling, plan work holding, stock prep, determine machining process steps
  • Make complex setups using optimal settings for efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and adjust for blueprint, material, machine, or program issues
  • Train and mentor operators and entry-level machinists
  • Run variety of machines (lathes, mills, CNC, manual)
  • Technical competencies as demonstrated by the following NIMS credentials: CNC Lathe II; CNC Mill II; Turning II (Between Centers and Chucking); Milling II; Grinding II
