Competencies/Credentials
- Advanced trigonometry
- Interpret all types of blueprints (imperial, metric, foreign, GD&T)
- Make setups: select tooling, plan work holding, stock prep, determine machining process steps
- Make complex setups using optimal settings for efficiency
- Troubleshoot and adjust for blueprint, material, machine, or program issues
- Train and mentor operators and entry-level machinists
- Run variety of machines (lathes, mills, CNC, manual)
- Technical competencies as demonstrated by the following NIMS credentials: CNC Lathe II; CNC Mill II; Turning II (Between Centers and Chucking); Milling II; Grinding II
Foundational employability skills, basic math and computer skills, written and verbal communication skills; safety awareness; drug free
